How can I help?

Get the word out. There are still thousands of South Whitehall and adjacent township residents who don't have any idea about the Atlas data center project. It is concerning a project of this magnitude and one that will impact as many people as Atlas, including the students at Parkland High School, has flown under the radar with so many residents.

  • Social Media: If you are on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Reddit, or any other message board make a post, start or join a conversation, link to this site. Let people know what is going to happen here in SWT if we don't act.
  • Talk to your Neighbors and Friends: Face to face conversations are a great way to get the word out. It also lets them see how important of an issue this is.
  • Attend township meetings: Make your voice heard. We have a list of the local meetings on the main page. Show up and make a statement. Get your opinion heard. It is important our township representatives see and hear that we the residents oppose the Atlas data center project.
  • Attend School Board meetings: The school board has a stake in this. They are responsible for protecting the learning environment of our students. What do we think will happen to that environment with the constant drone of fans and diesel generators permeating the walls of the school. Go to the meetings, and make your voice heard.
  • Distribute Flyers: There are downloadable flyers and information packets in the Get Educated page. Download and print up some copies. Keep a few in your car, briefcase, purse, etc. Ask local merchants to put them in their window, add them to a bulletin board, hand them out.
  • Get Educated: The full set of plans for the Atlas data center is linked on the SWT website. There is a lot to read, no doubt. A good starting place might be with the MEMO PACKET at the end of the list. This is the SWT assessment of the developer's plan. It is just over 100 pages of comments that indicate shortcomings of the developers submitted plans. From there you can continue to read the assessment reports the developer provided (14-18) and contrast that to what the township noted. Lastly dig into the plans themselves and see what the developer has in store for the site.
  • Donate: If we are going to fight this fight we will need funding to support hiring our own engineers and subject matter experts. These specialized professionals are going to be needed for the deep dive into the very technical details regarding noise studies, groundwater and stormwater runoff, traffic studies, etc.

Together as a community, we can fight back to protect our community, or schools, and our residents.
